Welcome to Calvary
We’re glad that you’re interested in visiting our church. We are a church that loves people and our church. In our corporate worship you can expect to find that we try to bring honor and glory to our Heavenly Father through singing praise, hymns, and spiritual songs as well as listening to God centered messages that will stir affection for our Lord in your heart. We hope that when you are here you will feel welcomed, loved, and a part of our family.
The atmosphere we have here at Calvary is one in which you can come as you are. There are no dress requirements here because when we look into the Scripture, we see an emphasis on people and not their clothing (James 2:1-9) If you prefer casual dress, then please come casual. If you want to wear a suit, then please wear a suit. The only thing that we ask is for you to dress modestly and with humility.
During the service we have a time alloted for worship through offering that is designated for our church members. We do not ask you to support the ministry of our church until you are willing to partner in our mission to reach the Westbank and the Greater New Orleans area.
If you are a parent and are worried about your child during the service then there is no need to worry. Your children are very important to us at Calvary. Because we care so much about your children we have some of the best caretakers around to take care of your little loved ones. If they are infants, toddlers, and preschoolers then bring them to our nursery and preschool classes. These rooms provide a warm and nurturing atmosphere for your children (Birth-4 yrs.). For your children that are from 5 years of age to the 4th grade we have a children’s worship service with their young, tender hearts in mind. They will be dismissed to Calvary’s Kids during the worship service.
If you are a first time visitor please allow us to give you a gift before you leave. We just want to say that we are glad that you came to worship with us, get to know you a little bit, and see if there is anyway that we, as a church, can follow up with you in anyway. After the service please go to the foyer and one of our greeters will meet you with the gift and want to get to know you.
If you have visited here before and would like to become part of the family that we have here at Calvary then let us know. We have a class called Discovering Membership in order for you to get to know us as a church. This class is required for people from the 7th grade through all adult ages. Please check the announcements for the date and time of the next class. Childcare is provided during this time. |
