Why we do Jump Start Jr.? At Calvary sound doctrine and creativity go hand in hand. We believe that church should be fun and enjoyable while instilling the eternal truths about God and His son Jesus Christ. In Jump Start Jr. preschoolers are immersed in a creative environment that allows them to become part of the Bible story. We desire for all preschoolers to see how Biblical teaching affects the decision they make every day. In this way we carry out Calvary’s mission to “To build everyday followers of Jesus Christ.
What does Sunday morning look like for preschoolers? Each Sunday you will check your child in at one of our security kiosks when you arrive on campus. After escorting them to their class your child will enjoy a game or craft activity that introduces the topic for the day. After a brief snack time your child will be brought to the Club House for large group worship. Your preschooler will experience an interactive large group time with songs and skits designed especially for their age. We follow this with the “Make it Stick” activities, which incorporate games, crafts, and discussion to reinforce the lesson taught in the Club House.
What do we teach?
We utilize the First Look curriculum produced by Rethink Group. This material provides an excellent strategy of instilling the foundational elements of the Christian faith in an age appropriate manner. Each week one of the three core values, “God made me, God loves me, and “Jesus wants to be my friend” are reinforced. Caterpillars: (Birth – Early crawlers)
An environment designed for our youngest kids to provide them with excellent care and plenty of TLC.
Ants: (Crawlers and Toddlers)
A place for young children to be active, play and explore.
Fireflies: (2yr and Early 3yr)
Designed with fun activities that engage children with practical biblical principles.
Grasshoppers: (Older 3 and 4yr Olds)
An adventure in which preschoolers experience a large group worship time and interact with crafts and games to reinforce Biblical truths.
Dragonflies: (Kindergartners)
Kindergartners are immersed with games and activities that reinforce the practical side of the daily Bible lessons.
