Life Groups
You’re invited and encouraged to be a part of one of the most vital parts of our church’s strategy of making everyday followers of Jesus Christ, our Life Group Ministry. Life Groups is where the large church experience grows smaller, intimate, relational, and missional. Whether you are in an On-Campus Life Group or a Home-Based Life Group you will be a part of a group that will strive to do three important things: Build, Do, and Become.
Build Community: Life Groups are where relationships happen at Calvary. It is improbable for someone to make a strong relationship in our Sunday morning worship gathering because it’s kind of tough to get to know someone in a room of 300 + who are singing songs and listening to the pastor teach. Life Groups take the church at large and bring it to a small and manageable group so that people in like life stages can do life together.
Do Ministry: Because we value community and the people who are a part of Calvary we want to meet the needs of those in our church and in our community. This is the Biblical model we see laid out throughout the book of Acts. Life Groups will meet the needs of the members of their group and will engage in mission activities that will allow them to be the church in the community where they meet or choose to serve in.
Become like Christ: The reason we are here as a church is to make everyday followers of Jesus Christ. The more we become like Christ the more we are willing and able to share with others about who He is and what He has done in our lives. Life Groups will provide a strategic time of Bible study that will focus on the mind, heart, hands, and feet of each member so that they know the Bible better (mind), are broken for what breaks the heart of God (heart), and then do something about it (hands and feet).
Like what you hear? Ready to be a part of this type of community? Great! In this brochure you will find the times and locations where our Life Groups are meeting. Simply fill out the info card and indicate which Life Group you prefer and you’re registered. It’s that simple. Life Groups begin the week of January 3, 2010.
