Why we do Jump Start?
To make “everyday followers of Jesus Christ”. Sound doctrine and creativity go hand in hand at Calvary. We believe that church should be fun and enjoyable while instilling the eternal truths about God and His son Jesus Christ. In Jump Start children are immersed in a creative environment that allows them to become part of the Bible story. Using energetic music, themed sets, and memorable skits, children see how to live lives of Godly character and virtue through the example of Scripture.
What does Sunday morning look like for children?
Each Sunday you will check your child in at one of our security kiosks when you arrive on campus. After escorting them to their class your child will enjoy a 15 minute “plug in” game or craft that introduces the topic for the day. Following this, your child will travel down the hall to “power up” in the Jump Start worship experience. They will worship with upbeat music and learn Biblical truths though entertaining skits and games. Your child will return to their small group for “catch on” activities and discussion that provides practical guidance on living out the Biblical truths. All children are brought back into the large group room at the end of church for check out.
What do we teach?
We utilize the 252 Basics curriculum produced by Rethink Group. This material provides an excellent strategy of instilling the foundational elements of the Christian faith in an age appropriate manner. Each week one of the three core values, “I need to make the wise choice”, “I can trust God no matter what”, “I should treat others the way I want to be treated,” are reinforced. We desire that these core values become the foundational elements of your child’s spiritual development. More information is available at www.252basics.org
