Calvary Baptist School
Founded in 1982, Calvary has been serving the New Orleans, Westbank area with quality elementary Christian education for many years now. We have a marvelous heritage of making a difference in the lives of our young people.
Our students are making a difference in their world. We are in a partnership with the home and this creates a bond that is not easily broken, especially in the ever-changing world in which we live.
Background
Calvary Baptist School is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church and admits students of any race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally made available to students at the school.
Calvary provides a 1/2 day PreK program as well as Kindergarten through 8th grades. 100% of the students that leave Calvary after 8th grade get accepted in schools like Shaw, Blenk, Dominican, just to name a few.
Curriculum
Calvary utilizes the A Beka curriculum and all new students must pass a comprehensive entrance exam. Christian education extends beyond the development of skills and the acquisition of knowledge. Developing a love for Jesus Christ and a value system based upon God's word are integral parts of our curriculum.
Sports
Calvary is a member of the New Orleans Christian School League and provides the following sports: Girls volleyball, basketball and Softball; Boys flag football, basketball, and softball.
Other Activities
Calvary has opportunities for girls to be on the Cheerleading or Pep Squad. Beta Club is also available for those students that maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
